Shahi Paneer
For paneer lovers, here is an awesome, easy and tasty gravy to enjoy with hot rotis, phulkas or steamed rice. Shahi Paneer.. My twist in this recipe is, have added chopped nuts instead of grinding it. It gives crunchiness to the gravy. :) :) One should definitely try this..

Shahi Paneer
Yield: 4 servings

Paneer and nuts in rich and creamy gravy
Ingredients:
- Paneer cubes - 200 gms
- Onions (roughly chopped) - 2
- Tomatoes (roughly chopped) - 2
- Ginger - 1 small piece
- Garlic flakes - 3
- Green Chillies - 2
- Poppy seeds - 1 Tbsp (soaked in warm milk)
- Bay leaves - 1
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- White Pepper powder - ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Kitchen King masala - 1 tsp
- Milk - ½ cup
- Honey - ½ tsp
- Butter - 2 Tbsp
- Dry fruits - 2 Tbsp (I used chopped walnuts and Almonds)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh Cream - 1 tsp for garnishing
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
- Grind onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chillies and poppy seeds in a mixer and make fine paste.
- Heat butter in a kadai and fry bay leaves. Then add the paste and fry until its golden brown and butter starts separating.
- Now add salt, white pepper powder, turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and kitchen king masala. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add milk and bring the gravy to boil. Reduce the flame n cook until the gravy becomes thick.
- Add half of the dry fruits to the gravy, while it is being cooked.
- Finally add paneer cubes and honey, cook the gravy for 5 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving dish. Garnish with fresh cream, coriander leaves and remaining dry fruits.
- Serve with hot rotis or rice.. :)
Notes:
You can fry paneer with little butter and add to the gravy. This gives a different taste.
you can add cashew paste to increase richness to the gravy.
